Released in 1988 on Elektra, this compilation brings together breezy pop, rootsy rock and rock ’n’ roll classics from an eclectic line-up including The Beach Boys, Bobby McFerrin, Starship and Little Richard.

Made for the Tom Cruise film, the soundtrack moves from the tropical escapism of “Kokomo” to the stripped-back charm of “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. It’s a lively, feel-good selection, equally suited to a nostalgic listening session or an evening with friends.
