Album Introduction
The Album is the fifth studio album by ABBA — Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad — released in January 1978 on Polar Records and produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus with engineer Michael B. Tretow. Released alongside the concert film ABBA: The Movie (directed by Lasse Hallström), it reached No. 1 in the UK and spawned two consecutive UK No. 1 singles: The Name of the Game and Take a Chance on Me. The album's second side is given over entirely to The Girl with the Golden Hair — a three-scene mini-musical that foreshadows Andersson and Ulvaeus's later theatrical work on Chess (1984). This is a gatefold pressing on the original Epic label.
