Adeva! is the debut studio album by Adeva (Patricia Ann Daniels), released in 1989 on Cooltempo Records and produced by Barry Harris and Paul Simpson — the New Jersey-based house and garage production duo who were among the key architects of the late 1980s New York house scene. Adeva — born in Paterson, New Jersey and raised in a gospel tradition — had come to attention through a series of club singles that fused her powerful, gospel-trained voice with the driving rhythms of house and garage music, and this debut album collected and expanded on that material. The album reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart, reflecting the particular enthusiasm of British audiences for the New York house and garage sound, and spawned multiple UK Top 20 singles. Respect — originally recorded by Otis Redding in 1965 and made iconic by Aretha Franklin in 1967 — and I Thank You — written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter and originally recorded by Sam & Dave in 1968 — demonstrate Adeva's deep roots in the classic soul tradition alongside her contemporary club sound.

- Warning! — The album's most immediately recognisable and commercially effective track; a driving, gospel-inflected house track with Adeva's voice at its most powerful and commanding, and one of the defining British club singles of 1989. UK No. 17.
- Respect — Otis Redding's 1965 composition, immortalised by Aretha Franklin's 1967 recording; Adeva's version brings the song back to its gospel and soul roots while giving it a contemporary house production that makes it completely at home in the late 1980s club context.
- I Thank You — Isaac Hayes and David Porter's 1968 Sam & Dave classic; a warm, driving soul-house track that demonstrates Adeva's ability to inhabit classic soul material with complete conviction and give it a contemporary production without sacrificing its emotional directness.
- Musical Freedom — The album's most expansive and musically ambitious track at over six minutes; a slow-building, gospel-influenced house track that gives Adeva the opportunity to demonstrate the full power and range of her voice in a context of sustained rhythmic and harmonic intensity.
- Beautiful Love — One of the album's most melodically generous and emotionally direct moments; a warm, mid-tempo soul-house track that showcases the more intimate and vulnerable side of Adeva's vocal personality, and one of the most immediately replayable and emotionally satisfying tracks on the record.
