True Confessions is the third studio album by Bananarama — Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhán Fahey — released in 1986 on London Records and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, marking the beginning of the group's long and commercially fruitful relationship with the SAW production team. The album's centrepiece is Venus — a cover of Shocking Blue's 1969 Dutch original, written by Robbie van Leeuwen — which reached No. 1 in the United States and No. 8 in the UK, becoming one of the biggest international hits of 1986 and giving Bananarama their first and only US No. 1 single. The album reached No. 16 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned further UK singles in Trick of the Night (No. 32) and Do Not Disturb (No. 22). With 11 tracks, True Confessions is the most expansive Bananarama album to this point, and the SAW production gives it a sonic consistency and dancefloor energy that their earlier, more eclectic releases had not always achieved.

UK No. 22.
