Eat to the Beat is the fourth studio album by Blondie — Debbie Harry (vocals), Chris Stein (guitar), Clem Burke (drums), Jimmy Destri (keyboards), Frank Infante (guitar) and Nigel Harrison (bass) — released in September 1979 on Chrysalis Records and produced by Mike Chapman. The album reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned four UK singles. Atomic — released as a single in early 1980 — reached UK No. 1 and remains one of the most immediately recognisable and sonically distinctive records of the era; it was later remixed by Diddy (Puff Daddy) in 1999 as Atomic 1999, reaching UK No. 19 and introducing it to a new generation. Union City Blue reached UK No. 13 and Dreaming UK No. 27. The album was notably accompanied by a full-length video album — one of the first ever produced — with a promotional film made for every track, anticipating the MTV era by two years. The 12-track album demonstrates the full breadth of Blondie's musical range, from the disco-influenced Atomic and the reggae-tinged Die Young Stay Pretty to the driving new wave of Dreaming and the atmospheric Sound-A-Sleep.

- Accidents Never Happen — One of the album's most driving and rhythmically confident tracks; a fast, guitar-led new wave song that captures the band's CBGB roots at their most direct and energetic, and gives the album one of its most viscerally exciting and immediately compelling moments.
