Click is a comedy fantasy film released in 2006 and directed by Frank Coraci (The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy), written by Steve Koren and Mark O'Keefe. Adam Sandler plays Michael Newman, an overworked architect who stumbles upon a universal remote control — given to him by the eccentric inventor Morty (Christopher Walken) — that can pause, rewind and fast-forward through his own life. What begins as a comic wish-fulfilment fantasy gradually reveals its darker implications as Michael skips past the moments that matter most. The film grossed over $237 million worldwide and is one of Sandler's most emotionally ambitious comedies; the tonal shift into genuine pathos in the film's second half caught many audiences off guard and gives the film a resonance that outlasts its more conventional comic moments. Walken's Morty is one of the great eccentric supporting performances in Sandler's filmography.
