Dredd is a lean, brutal and brilliantly crafted science fiction action film released in 2012 and directed by Pete Travis, with a screenplay by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, 28 Days Later). Set in the vast, crime-ridden Mega-City One, Karl Urban stars as Judge Dredd — judge, jury and executioner — who takes rookie psychic Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) on an assessment day that goes catastrophically wrong when they become trapped inside the 200-storey Peach Trees tower block, controlled by the ruthless drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey). Garland's screenplay strips the concept back to its essentials and delivers a film of extraordinary efficiency and intensity. A cult classic that was criminally underseen on release but has since been recognised as one of the finest comic book adaptations ever made. The 3D Blu-ray presentation is exceptional, particularly in the Slo-Mo drug sequences.

- The 3D presentation — One of the best uses of 3D in the format's history; the Slo-Mo sequences in particular are designed specifically for the format and the depth of field in the tower block sequences is genuinely impressive.
