The Freddie Mercury Album is a posthumous solo compilation by Freddie Mercury (Farrokh Bulsara), released in October 1992 on Parlophone Records — almost exactly one year after his death from AIDS-related pneumonia on 24 November 1991. The 11-track compilation draws on Mercury's solo recordings made between 1984 and 1988, separate from his work with Queen, and presents the full range of his solo artistic ambitions: from the synth-pop of Mr. Bad Guy (1985) to the operatic grandeur of Barcelona, his celebrated collaboration with Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballé, originally released in 1987 to coincide with the announcement of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Living on My Own — originally a modest hit in 1985 — was remixed and re-released after Mercury's death and reached No. 1 in the UK in August 1993, making Mercury the first artist to achieve a posthumous UK No. 1 with a re-release. The Great Pretender — his cover of the Platters' 1955 classic — had reached No. 4 in the UK in 1987. The album is an essential document of one of the most extraordinary voices in the history of popular music.

- Mr. Bad Guy — The title track from Mercury's 1985 solo album and the song that most clearly demonstrates his synth-pop ambitions outside Queen; a driving, melodically strong pop song that showcases a different side of his musical personality and demonstrates the breadth of his artistic range beyond the rock context in which he is most celebrated.
