Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Dom Cobb, a skilled thief who specialises in extracting secrets from within people's dreams. Offered a chance to have his criminal record erased, Cobb assembles a team to perform inception — planting an idea in a target's subconscious rather than stealing one. The film operates across multiple layers of dreamed reality, building to a climax of extraordinary complexity and emotional power. A worldwide box office phenomenon grossing over $836 million, it won four Academy Awards including Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects, and features one of the great film scores in Hans Zimmer's thunderous, brass-driven soundtrack.
