The Fame is the debut studio album by Lady Gaga (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta), released in August 2008 on Interscope Records and produced primarily by RedOne and Gaga herself, with additional production from Martin Kierszenbaum and others. The album sold over 15 million copies worldwide and launched one of the most extraordinary careers in contemporary pop history. Just Dance — Gaga's debut single — spent 22 weeks climbing the US Billboard Hot 100 before reaching No. 1, and Poker Face became one of the best-selling singles of all time, selling over 14 million copies globally and reaching No. 1 in over 20 countries.
