Wide Awake in Dreamland is the seventh studio album by Pat Benatar, born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski in Brooklyn, New York, released in 1988 on Chrysalis Records and produced by her husband Neil Giraldo (guitar). The album reached No. 28 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 28 on the Billboard 200. All Fired Up reached UK No. 19 and US No. 15 (1988) — a driving, guitar-led track that gave Benatar one of her most commercially effective late-1980s singles. Don't Walk Away reached US No. 36 (1988). The 10-track album demonstrates Benatar's ability to combine rock, pop and melodic songwriting with her powerful vocal, continuing her acclaimed career into the late 1980s with a distinctive blend of guitar-driven energy and commercial directness.
