Sheer Heart Attack is the third studio album by Queen — Freddie Mercury (vocals and piano), Brian May (guitar), Roger Taylor (drums) and John Deacon (bass) — originally released in November 1974 on EMI Records and produced by Roy Thomas Baker and Queen. This pressing is a reissue of the original album. The album reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 12 in the United States. Killer Queen — written by Mercury and one of the most melodically sophisticated and immediately distinctive British pop-rock singles of 1974 — reached UK No. 2 and US No. 12, giving the band their first major international hit. Now I'm Here reached UK No. 11. Stone Cold Crazy — a ferocious proto-metal track later covered by Metallica, who won a Grammy Award for their version in 1991 — demonstrates the band's harder rock credentials alongside the theatrical and musical range of the 13-track album. In the Lap of the Gods... Revisited closes the album and was performed by the surviving members at Live Aid in July 1985 as a tribute to Mercury.

- Killer Queen — Mercury's most melodically sophisticated and harmonically complex composition to that point; a witty, camp, music-hall-influenced pop-rock song with a lyric of aristocratic irony and a production of complete theatrical precision that gave Queen their first major international hit. UK No. 2. US No. 12.
- Now I'm Here — A driving, guitar-led hard rock track written by Brian May; its combination of May's distinctive guitar sound and Mercury's powerful vocal gives it a sustained energy and arena rock appeal that made it one of the band's most enduring live favourites. UK No. 11.
- Stone Cold Crazy — A ferocious, proto-metal track that demonstrates the band's harder rock credentials at their most viscerally exciting; its combination of May's aggressive guitar and Mercury's completely uninhibited vocal gives it a raw energy that anticipates the heavy metal developments of the following decade. Later covered by Metallica (Grammy, 1991).
- Brighton Rock — The album's opening track and one of its most musically ambitious; a driving hard rock song that features one of May's most extended and technically impressive guitar solos and establishes the album's sonic range from the very first note.
- In the Lap of the Gods... Revisited — The album's closing track and one of its most emotionally resonant; a slow, anthemic rock song with a lyric of romantic fatalism that closes the album with complete dramatic effectiveness and was performed at Live Aid (1985) as a tribute to Mercury.
