Album Introduction
Roxette’s Joyride combines bright pop hooks, guitar-driven energy and expressive ballads, with Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle sharing the spotlight. Released in 1991 on EMI, the album balances the playful title track with the soaring “Fading Like a Flower (Every Time You Leave)” and the reflective “Spending My Time”.
Produced principally by Clarence Öfwerman, with “Physical Fascination” credited to Öfwerman and Anders Herrlin, the record blends keyboards, crisp rhythms and layered guitars around the duo’s contrasting voices. Upbeat selections such as “The Big L.” sit alongside gentler moments including “Watercolours in the Rain” and “Perfect Day”.
