The Seeds of Love is the third studio album by Tears For Fears — Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, from Bath, Somerset, England — released in September 1989 on Fontana Records. The album reached UK No. 1 and US No. 8. Sowing the Seeds of Love reached UK No. 5 and US No. 2 (1989), Woman in Chains reached UK No. 26 (1989) and Advice for the Young at Heart reached UK No. 36 (1990). The 8-track album demonstrates the band's ambitious songwriting, rich production and unique blend of pop, rock, soul and progressive influences, with contributions from guest vocalist Oleta Adams, whose soulful vocals helped define the sound of several tracks.
