Cosmic Thing is the fifth studio album by The B-52's — Kate Pierson (vocals), Cindy Wilson (vocals), Fred Schneider (vocals) and Keith Strickland (guitar) — from Athens, Georgia, released in June 1989 on Reprise Records and produced by Don Was and Nile Rodgers. The album reached US No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and marked a major comeback for the band. Love Shack reached US No. 3 and UK No. 2 (1989), becoming one of the band's signature recordings. Roam reached US No. 3 (1990). The 10-track album demonstrates The B-52' unmistakable sound, combining catchy melodies, vibrant rhythms, playful lyrics and the distinctive vocals of Pierson, Wilson and Schneider, blending new wave, rock, pop and quirky dance influences into one of the most celebrated releases of their career.
