The Best of Stock Aitken Waterman: A Ton of Hits is a 78-track double-LP compilation released in 1990 on PWL Records, celebrating the extraordinary chart dominance of the legendary production trio Stock Aitken Waterman — Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman. Known as the 'Hit Factory,' SAW defined the sound of late-1980s British pop with their upbeat, Hi-NRG-influenced production style. The compilation includes multiple UK No. 1 singles: Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley (1987), I Should Be So Lucky by Kylie Minogue (1988), Especially for You by Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan (1988), Too Many Broken Hearts by Jason Donovan (1989), You'll Never Stop Me Loving You by Sonia (1989) and Respectable by Mel & Kim (1987). The compilation also features Donna Summer, Cliff Richard, Hazell Dean, Sinitta, Big Fun, Brother Beyond, Divine, Samantha Fox, Pepsi & Shirlie, Pat & Mick and The Reynolds Girls, among many others.
