Daniel Craig plays disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist, hired by a wealthy industrialist to investigate the decades-old disappearance of his niece. He is joined by Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara), a brilliant, damaged hacker whose skills and instincts prove indispensable. Fincher brings his trademark cold precision to the material — the film is dark, methodical and deeply atmospheric, shot in Sweden with a wintry bleakness that perfectly suits Larsson's world. Rooney Mara received an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of Lisbeth, one of the most compelling characters in modern thriller cinema. A superb Blu-ray presentation of a modern classic.
