Rock & Roll: The Early Days brings together twelve recordings from the formative years of rock and roll. Released by RCA in 1985, the compilation features Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and other artists whose recordings helped define the sound.
From the vocal harmonies of The Chords’ “Sh-Boom” to the driving energy of “Tutti Frutti” and “Great Balls of Fire”, the selection spans rhythm and blues, rockabilly and piano-led rock and roll. This mono vinyl edition features colourful pinball-themed sleeve artwork and historical notes by Gregg Geller, dated April 1985. The front cover also carries a digitally remastered marking.
