Brothers In Rhythm is a 1989 UK double vinyl LP compilation bringing together 32 tracks of soul, R&B, funk, and dance across four sides — a sweeping, joyful journey through the history of Black music from the Motown era to the late 1980s. Curated with real breadth and affection, it moves from the classic Detroit soul of the Four Tops and Temptations through the Philadelphia sound of the O'Jays and Stylistics, into the funk of Earth Wind & Fire and Cameo, and on to the late-80s dancefloor energy of Was (Not Was) and Jellybean. A brilliantly programmed compilation that works as both a party record and a collector's document of the genre's evolution. In VG+/VG+ condition, this is an excellent copy.
