Album Introduction
Bad English brings together vocalist John Waite, guitarist Neal Schon, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, bassist Ricky Phillips and drummer Deen Castronovo. Produced by Richie Zito, their 1989 self-titled album blends melodic rock, powerful vocals and polished arrangements.
Featuring “When I See You Smile”, “Price of Love” and “Forget Me Not”, the record balances heartfelt ballads with guitar-driven rock. It’s a strong choice for listeners who enjoy big choruses and the distinctive sound of late-1980s melodic rock. This Epic edition comes on black vinyl with the pictured printed credit inner sleeve.
Stand-Out Tracks
“When I See You Smile”
A heartfelt power ballad built around John Waite’s expressive vocal and a sweeping chorus. Its gentler passages give the bigger moments room to shine, making it a natural centrepiece of the album.
“Price of Love”
A melodic highlight that pairs romantic tension with an accessible, memorable chorus. The polished arrangement brings the band’s vocal, guitar and keyboard strengths together.
“Forget Me Not”
An energetic selection with a punchier rock feel. Driving instrumentation and a strong vocal hook make it a good starting point for the album’s harder-edged material.
“Best of What I Got”
The opening track sets an upbeat tone with confident vocals and guitar-led momentum. It introduces the album’s mix of rock energy and radio-friendly melody.
“Possession”
A more atmospheric highlight that provides a contrast to the livelier tracks. Its measured build and emotional delivery suit listeners drawn to the band’s dramatic, melodic side.
