The Greatest Hits Collection is a 1988 compilation by Bananarama — Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhán Fahey — released on London Records. The compilation reached No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart and draws on the trio's remarkable run of UK and international hit singles between 1982 and 1988. Venus — a cover of Shocking Blue's 1969 Dutch classic, produced by Stock Aitken Waterman — reached US No. 1 and UK No. 8 (1986), making Bananarama the first act to have a US No. 1 with a cover of a previous US No. 1. Love in the First Degree and Robert De Niro's Waiting both reached UK No. 3; I Heard a Rumour reached UK No. 14 and US No. 4; Cruel Summer reached UK No. 8 and US No. 9. Nathan Jones — a cover of the Four Tops' 1971 hit — reached UK No. 15, and It Ain't What You Do (It's the Way That You Do It) — recorded with Fun Boy Three — reached UK No. 4. The 14-track compilation is the most complete single-disc survey of the group's 1980s output.
