Walk Like an Egyptian reached US No. 1 (1986), Manic Monday reached US No. 2 (1986, written by Prince), Eternal Flame reached US No. 1 and UK No. 1 (1989), and Hazy Shade of Winter reached US No. 2 (1987, from the Less Than Zero soundtrack). The compilation also includes In Your Room (US No. 5, 1988), If She Knew What She Wants, Going Down to Liverpool and Hero Takes a Fall, showcasing the band's distinctive harmonies, jangly guitars and catchy melodies that made them one of the most commercially dominant female-fronted bands of the 1980s.
