Runaway Horses is the third solo studio album by Belinda Carlisle, from Los Angeles, California — formerly lead singer of The Go-Go's — released in October 1989 on Virgin Records. The album reached No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. Leave a Light On reached UK No. 4 (1989), Summer Rain reached UK No. 6 (1990), (We Want) The Same Thing reached UK No. 7 (1990) and La Luna reached UK No. 38 (1990). The 10-track album demonstrates Carlisle's ability to combine polished pop-rock production with memorable melodies and heartfelt performances, giving her a position as one of the most commercially dominant female solo artists of the late 1980s.
