The Eve of the War (Remix) is a 12-inch single by legendary Dutch DJ and remixer Ben Liebrand, from Rotterdam, Netherlands, released in 1989 on CBS Records. The remix reimagines The Eve of the War from Jeff Wayne's musical version of The War of the Worlds (1978), combining the dramatic orchestral elements of the original with electronic beats, dance rhythms and extended club production. The remix reached UK No. 11 (1989), giving Liebrand one of his most commercially dominant recordings and demonstrating the creativity and remix culture that defined the late-1980s dance scene. The 12-inch format features the Deepspace Mix on the A-side alongside Mankind Strikes Back on the B-side.
