Love Zone is the fourth studio album by Billy Ocean, born Leslie Sebastian Charles in Fyzabad, Trinidad and raised in Romford, Essex, released in 1986 on Jive Records. The album reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 6 in the United States, and spawned four UK and US hit singles. When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going — written by Ocean, Wayne Brathwaite, Barry Eastmond and Robert John "Mutt" Lange, and featured in the film The Jewel of the Nile (1985) — reached UK No. 1 and US No. 2. There'll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry) reached US No. 1 and UK No. 12. Love Is Forever reached UK No. 34 and Love Zone reached US No. 10 and UK No. 49. Ocean's voice — warm, smooth and completely assured — and the album's polished mid-1980s soul-pop production give every track an immediate and sustained commercial appeal that made Love Zone one of the most commercially successful British soul albums of the decade.
