Heart of Stone is the nineteenth studio album by Cher — born Cherilyn Sarkisian, from El Centro, California — released in June 1989 on Geffen Records. The album reached No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200, marking a major comeback and becoming one of Cher's most commercially successful studio albums. If I Could Turn Back Time reached UK No. 6 and US No. 3 (1989), After All (with Peter Cetera) reached US No. 6 (1989) and Just Like Jesse James was released as a single in 1990. The 12-track album demonstrates Cher's ability to combine pop, rock and adult contemporary sounds with her unmistakable voice, introducing her music to a new generation while reinforcing her status as one of pop's most iconic performers.
