Colour By Numbers is Culture Club's second studio album, released in October 1983 on Virgin Records. Produced by Steve Hillage, it became one of the best-selling albums of 1983–84, reaching #1 in the UK and #2 in the US, and earning the band a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Driven by the unstoppable Karma Chameleon — which spent six weeks at #1 in the UK — the album showcases Boy George and Culture Club at the absolute peak of their commercial powers, blending new wave, soul, reggae, and pop into a sound that was entirely their own. A landmark of 1980s British pop and one of the decade's most recognisable records.
