Drummers from Mother Africa is a South African percussion album centred on the work of Thapelo Khomo, a percussionist and composer whose recordings draw on the rich and diverse drumming traditions of sub-Saharan Africa. The album's 11 tracks feature Khomo in collaboration with a rotating cast of South African musicians — including Ian Osrin, Mosoeu Ketlele, Zamo Mbutho, Marilyn Nokwe, Veli Shabangu and Godfrey Mgcina — and the South African barcode and label suggest a domestic release that has found its way into the international collector market.
