Power of a Woman is the second studio album by Eternal, released in October 1995 on 1st Avenue Records (EMI). The group — Easther Bennett, Vernie Bennett, Kelle Bryan and Louise Redknapp — had established themselves as one of the most successful British R&B acts of the early 1990s with their debut Always & Forever (1993), and this second album consolidated and extended that success. It became their highest-charting UK album, reaching No. 2, and spawned four UK Top 10 singles. Notably, it is the last Eternal album to feature Louise Redknapp, who departed for a successful solo career in 1995. Produced by a team including Eliot Kennedy and Tim Laws, the album showcases the group's four-part harmonies and their ability to move between uptempo R&B, gospel-influenced soul and polished pop ballads with real ease and conviction. One of the finest British girl group albums of the decade.
