Nursery Cryme is the third studio album by Genesis — Peter Gabriel (vocals), Tony Banks (keyboards), Mike Rutherford (bass and guitar), Phil Collins (drums) and Steve Hackett (guitar) — from Godalming, Surrey, released in November 1971 on Charisma Records. This was the first Genesis album to feature the classic five-piece lineup with Hackett and Collins, marking an important stage in the band's evolution. The 7-track album demonstrates the band's intricate musicianship, imaginative storytelling and distinctive early progressive rock sound, with complex arrangements, theatrical vocals and the atmospheric style that became a hallmark of the Peter Gabriel-era lineup. The gatefold sleeve adds to the appeal of this collectible release.
