Schizophonic is the debut solo album by Geri Halliwell, released in June 1999 on EMI Records, just over a year after her departure from the Spice Girls in May 1998. Produced by a team including Andy Hill, Steve Lipson and Matt Rowe, the album was a remarkable commercial success, debuting at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and spawning three consecutive UK No. 1 singles — Look at Me, Mi Chico Latino and Lift Me Up — with a fourth, Bag It Up, reaching No. 1 the following year. The album sold over 2 million copies worldwide and demonstrated that Halliwell's solo commercial appeal was substantial and independent of the Spice Girls brand. The album's eclectic mix of dance-pop, Latin-influenced pop and more reflective ballads reflects the album's title — a deliberately varied collection that showcases different facets of Halliwell's personality and musical interests.
