Love. Angel. Music. Baby. is the debut solo album by Gwen Stefani, released in November 2004 on Interscope Records while she remained the frontwoman of No Doubt. Produced by an extraordinary roster including The Neptunes, Dr. Luke, Linda Perry, Dallas Austin and Andre 3000, the album is a kaleidoscopic, genre-hopping collection that draws on 1980s new wave, hip-hop, electropop and J-pop — reflecting Stefani's obsession with Japanese Harajuku culture, which gave the album some of its most distinctive imagery and the song Harajuku Girls. The album sold over 9 million copies worldwide and spawned five US Top 40 singles. Hollaback Girl became the first digital download to sell one million copies in the United States. The album is one of the most confident and fully realised pop solo debuts of the decade — eccentric, ambitious and consistently entertaining.
