Kaleidoscope is the debut studio album by Kelis (Kelis Rogers), released in November 1999 on Virgin Records and produced entirely by The Neptunes — Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo — in one of the earliest and most significant statements of what would become one of the most influential production partnerships in contemporary pop and R&B. The album arrived at a moment when The Neptunes were still largely unknown outside industry circles, and its extraordinary sonic palette — angular synth stabs, skeletal funk rhythms, dissonant chord voicings and a production aesthetic that owed as much to avant-garde electronic music as to mainstream R&B — announced both Kelis and her producers as genuinely original voices. The album reached No. 38 in the UK and spawned the UK Top 5 single Caught Out There, whose chorus — Kelis screaming “I hate you so much right now” — became one of the most immediately recognisable moments in late 1990s pop. The album was banned in the United States by her label, making the UK pressing the primary release and giving this CD a particular collector significance.

- Suspended — A hypnotic, atmospheric mid-tempo track that showcases the more introspective side of both Kelis's vocal personality and The Neptunes' production aesthetic; one of the album's most musically sophisticated and emotionally complex moments and a reminder of how far ahead of its time this record was.
