Affection is the debut studio album by Lisa Stansfield, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, released in November 1989 on Arista Records. The album reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Stansfield won the Brit Award for Best British Female in 1990, and All Around the World won the Brit Award for Best British Single. All Around the World reached UK No. 1 and US No. 3 (1989) — a warm, soulful track that established Stansfield as one of the most immediately distinctive and commercially dominant British female vocalists of the era. This Is the Right Time reached UK No. 13 (1989), Live Together reached UK No. 10 (1990) and What Did I Do to You? reached UK No. 25 (1990).
