My One and Only Thrill is the second studio album by Melody Gardot, released in May 2009 on Verve Records / Universal Music and produced by Larry Klein — the producer and bassist best known for his long collaboration with Joni Mitchell, including Turbulent Indigo (1994) and Travelogue (2002). Gardot's story is one of the most remarkable in contemporary music: in 2003, aged 19, she was struck by a car while cycling in Philadelphia, suffering severe neurological and spinal injuries that left her bedridden for over a year. During her recovery, her doctors encouraged her to write and play music as a form of neurological therapy, and the sensitivity to light and sound caused by her injuries — she performs wearing tinted glasses and earplugs — has shaped her artistic identity ever since. The album reached No. 1 in France and No. 2 in the UK and established Gardot as one of the most distinctive and emotionally compelling voices in contemporary jazz. Klein's production — warm, orchestral and unhurried — gives the album a timeless quality that draws on the classic Verve recordings of the 1950s and 60s without merely imitating them.

- Les Étoiles — A French-language track that demonstrates Gardot's musical range and her particular affinity with French musical culture — an affinity that would deepen with her subsequent albums recorded in Paris; the performance is warm and completely natural, and the song sits within the album's sonic world with complete ease.
- Our Love Is Easy — One of the album's most melodically generous and immediately appealing tracks; a warm, mid-tempo jazz song with a lyric of uncomplicated romantic contentment and a production that is bright and unhurried, giving the album one of its most joyful and replayable moments.
