(What's the Story) Morning Glory? is the second studio album by Oasis, released in October 1995 on Creation Records and produced by Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher. Recorded at Rockfield Studio in Wales in just over two weeks, the album arrived at the peak of the Britpop era and became a cultural phenomenon of a scale that few British albums have matched before or since. It has sold over 22 million copies worldwide, making it the second best-selling album in UK chart history, and spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart. The album's combination of Noel Gallagher's melodic songwriting, Liam Gallagher's inimitable vocal delivery and Owen Morris's enormous, compressed production gave it a sound that defined a generation. From the opening chord of Hello to the seven-minute sprawl of Champagne Supernova, it remains one of the most complete and confident British rock albums ever made.
