Crimes of Passion is the second studio album by Pat Benatar — born Patricia Andrzejewski, from Brooklyn, New York — released in August 1980 on Chrysalis Records and produced by Keith Olsen. The album reached US No. 2 on the Billboard 200, establishing Benatar as one of the most powerful and influential female rock artists of the era. Hit Me With Your Best Shot reached US No. 9 (1980) — her first Top 10 single and one of the most enduring rock anthems of the 1980s. Treat Me Right reached US No. 18 (1980). The 10-track album demonstrates Benatar's incredible vocal range, dramatic performances and the guitar-driven sound — featuring guitarist/husband Neil Giraldo — that helped define 1980s rock music.
