Look Sharp! is the second studio album by Roxette — Marie Fredriksson (vocals) and Per Gessle (guitar and vocals) — from Halmstad, Sweden, released in 1988 on EMI Records and produced by Clarence Öfwerman. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. Its international breakthrough is one of the great word-of-mouth stories in pop history: American student Dean Cushman brought a copy back from Sweden and persuaded a Minnesota radio station to play The Look, triggering a chain of events that led to the album's US release and global success. The Look reached US No. 1 and UK No. 7, Listen to Your Heart reached US No. 1 and UK No. 6, Dangerous reached US No. 2 and UK No. 10, and Dressed for Success reached UK No. 18. The 12-track album demonstrates the full range of Gessle's songwriting — from the driving guitar-pop of The Look and Dangerous to the slow, emotionally expansive ballad Listen to Your Heart at over five minutes and the atmospheric Cry at five minutes.
