Wildflower is the sixth studio album by Sheryl Crow, released in September 2005 on A&M Records and produced by Sheryl Crow and Bill Bottrell. Following the more rock-oriented sound of C'mon C'mon (2002), Crow returned with a more acoustic, introspective album that drew on folk, country and classic rock influences while retaining the melodic directness that had made her one of the most commercially successful singer-songwriters of the 1990s. The album reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 2 on the US Billboard 200, and features a notable guest appearance by Sting on Always on Your Side. The UK edition includes two acoustic bonus tracks — acoustic versions of Wildflower and Where Has All the Love Gone — that give the album a satisfying extended coda. A mature, confident and consistently rewarding album from an artist at the peak of her craft.
Highlights

- Chances Are — One of the album's more expansive tracks at over five minutes; a country-tinged rock song that builds with real conviction and demonstrates Crow's ease across different American musical traditions, with a vocal performance of considerable warmth and authority.
- Letter to God — The album's most personal and lyrically ambitious moment; a direct, unadorned meditation on faith, doubt and mortality that strips away the production and delivers something genuinely moving. One of the most underrated songs in Crow's catalogue.
