Pop Art is the debut studio album by Transvision Vamp — Wendy James (vocals, born in London, raised in Newquay, Cornwall) and Nick Christian Sayer (guitar and songwriter) — released in 1988 on MCA Records. The album reached No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. I Want Your Love reached UK No. 3 and Tell That Girl to Shut Up — originally recorded by Rockpile and written by Nick Lowe — reached UK No. 7. The 10-track album demonstrates the band's ability to combine punk attitude with catchy pop songwriting and a visual aesthetic inspired by Andy Warhol and 1960s pop art, giving them a distinctive position in the late-1980s British alternative pop landscape.
