The Unforgettable Fire is the fourth studio album by U2 — Bono (vocals), The Edge (guitar), Adam Clayton (bass) and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums) — from Dublin, Ireland, released in October 1984 on Island Records and produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. The album reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and marked a major creative turning point for U2, introducing a more atmospheric, experimental sound while retaining the band's powerful emotional songwriting. Pride (In the Name of Love) reached UK No. 3 (1984) and became one of U2's most enduring recordings.
