Slide It In is the fifth studio album by Whitesnake, released in January 1984 on EMI Records. The band was led by David Coverdale, born in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire and formerly the lead vocalist of Deep Purple (1973–1976). The lineup on this UK pressing includes John Sykes (guitar), Neil Murray (bass), Cozy Powell (drums) and Jon Lord (keyboards) — Lord also a Deep Purple alumnus. The album reached No. 9 on the UK Albums Chart. Guilty of Love reached UK No. 31 and Love Ain't No Stranger reached UK No. 44. This is the original UK pressing — the album was subsequently remixed for the US market with a partially different lineup, making the UK original the more historically significant version. Slow an' Easy — at over six minutes — is the album's most expansive and blues-influenced track and its centrepiece, demonstrating Coverdale's vocal power and the band's deep roots in the British blues-rock tradition.
